On Thursday evening, September 3rd the North Forney Freshman Falcons stepped onto the field to face the Dallas Spruce Timberwolves.
From the early minutes of the game the Falcons struggled and were unable to establish a foothold. This allowed the Timberwolves to control the game from beginning to end, shutting out the Falcons with a final score of 54-0.
North Forney is in the process of building a new athletic program from the ground up and this will take time. The Falcons will face many obstacles in the coming season but with hard work and commitment they will achieve their desired results.
Although the Falcons lost, there were other highlights to the night, such as the half-time performance by the Falcon Band, who were accompanied by the Falcon Dancers and Flag Corp.
The North Forney Band marched onto the field, with PRIDE across their chests and excitement shining from their faces to perform for the first time before a home crowd.
The NFHS Cheerleaders also performed throughout the game and whole heartedly tried to keep the crowds spirits up while the band kept the crowd entertained with music throughout the second half.
Very late in the 4th quarter lightening was sighted in the distance and the game was immediately called to its finish as the crowd was instructed to quickly evacuate the aluminum stands for safety reasons.
