Poteet Takes Game 1

With a trip to the state tournament on the line, the Jackrabbits lost game 1 on Wednesday night to divisional foe Mesquite Poteet, 4-2.

The Rabbits took the early lead 2-0, and the differene in this game may have ulimately came down to two critical infield errors that led to two Poteet runs.

Freshman Shelby Hedrick pitched very well, and kept the team competitive for six innings.

With the game slipping away, the the Rabbits made the top of the seventh inning interesting when the ladies rallied with runners on first and second, but it was not to be on this night.

In the game, both Rylie Chappell Hillary Steed recorded doubles.

The Lady Rabbits will play Mesquite in Game 2 on Friday night in Red Oak.
