District Attorney Issues Statement

To my family and friends, to the men and women in law enforcement, to the victims of DWI, and to the people of Kaufman County I can only say I am sorry that I let you down. You deserve better from me. Someone in law enforcement is and should be held to a higher standard.

I wish I could tell you that I was a perfect man but I only know of one man who was ever perfect. My family and I have begun counseling. I want to thank everyone who has called or come by to offer encouragement and support. YOu will never know how much it has meant to me. Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers.

I have always given Kaufman County my best. I am proud of the people in my office and what we have accomplished and will continue to give my all.

I will not make a decision on my future until I finish counseling and consult with our county officials. I am fortunate to still have the support of our sheriff, the county judge, and the commissioners, city police chiefs and judges who have called or come by to talk to me. I want the best thing for the county.
