Forney Police Respond to 1st Homicide of 2009

For the first time this year the Forney Police are investigating a Homicide. Sunday, June 21st at 4:15 p.m. Forney 911 Dispatch received a call regarding “a possible suicide.”
Post Editors were monitoring Sunday afternoon 911 transmissions when dispatch requested, “Need a unit to respond to 632 Tumbleweed in regard to a possible suicide. Caller is stating he is a truck driver and he just came home and found he wife.”
The responding police unit stated, “Did the caller say what happened. What type of suicide attempt?”
Forney Dispatch responded, “Possible gun shot wound to the head.”
A Post photographer arrived on the scene just moments after two, Forney Police units and the FFD Fire Rescue SVU.

Officers and EMT workers entered the home and a short while later, 911 Dispatch was notified to “Cancel East Texas (EMT)” as twenty-eight year old, Aveia Danielle Anderson, of Forney, was found to be already deceased.
A Post photographer witnessed, but did not photograph, Mr. Anderson's emotional response to this sad realization and within a few short moments he was led into the home of a neighbor.
Forney Police began their investigation by “taping off the residence as a crime scene” and then requested dispatch to “send East Texas to transport the patient to the hospital” and to “send the Chaplin.”
The Post continued to monitor the unfolding investigation until well after 7:30 p.m. when Forney Police were still at the home.
The Post would like to express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mrs. Anderson and only the attached photographs will be released.
The Post, along with other area media outlets, received the following Press Release from the Forney Police Department regarding their ongoing investigation into Forney's 1st Homicide of 2009.
"The Forney Police Department is investigating a homicide at this time. Forney Police Department received a 911 call at approximately 4:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 21st. Officers along with emergency medical services responded to 632 Tumbleweed. The victim, 28 year old Aveia Danielle Anderson, was found deceased in her residence. There are no suspects at the time of this release. If anyone has any information regarding this crime, please contact Lt. Williams at 972-552-3932."
