The holiday season officially arrived Wednesday with the annual hanging
of the Hometown Christmas Bunny Banner at the entrance to historic
downtown Forney.
Designed as the official invitation to the community to attend Forney’s
Hometown Christmas, the extra large, custom made banner, was hung on
the side of the Hawthorn Building on South Bois d’ Arc, just to the right
of the Forney Jackrabbit.
FHTC 2008 is a collaborative, joint celebration hosted by the City of
Forney, and the Forney Chamber of Commerce.

FHTC event organizers, and passing motorists, looked on as Mark Brooks,
Owner of Sign Works Central in Forney, supervised and assisted in
securing the large banner to one of Forney’s oldest buildings.
City of Forney public works employees along with Intex Electric crews
could be seen hanging Christmas lights and decorations throughout the
downtown area in preparation for the upcoming festivities.
