Forney Fire Department Helps Put Out Huge Brush Fire

On Tuesday afternoon at approximately 3:00 p.m., a brush fire began in Rockwall County near the Kaufman County line that consumed 100 acres of dry grass and brush, and threatened area homes.

The Forney Fire Department, along with Terrell and Fate FD's, were called to assist Rockwall battle the flames off of McDonald Road near Heath.

Low humidity and light winds aided the spread in the fire. The intense smoke could be seen for miles.

The cause of the fire is unkown at this time.
