On Monday afternoon, thirty four year-old Jennifer Ussery of Forney was arrested outside of the Forney Wal-Mart, behind Capital One, on outstanding warrants, assault with a deadly weapon, and theft.
As the woman exited the store the store at approximately 2:45 p.m. store employees told police that items had been dropped in the parking lot while she was trying to get away.
Accoring to release by the Forney Police Department, two Wal-Mart employees stated they believed Ussery tried to run over them in her attempt to leave the parking lot.
Handcuffed on the side of the road, police went through the woman's vehicle and discovered a police officer's bag and a radar gun, among other unknown items.
Ussery was arrested on two outstanding warrants, and for two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Ussery reportedly hit two pedestrians in the parking lot of Wal-Mart while attempting a getaway. She was also charged with theft under $50.00.
The woman at first claimed she was married to a Dallas County Sheriff as police attempted to identify the woman. She later changed her story and said the Sheriff was a boyfriend that she had lived with for three years.
Ussery did appear to be having breathing difficulties and asked police for an ambulance. Within a few moments EMT's were on scene and the Ussery was transported to Presbyterian Hospital in Kaufman under police custody.
The black Ford F-150 she was driving is registered to a male out of Red Oak.
Ussery is awaiting arraignment and bond amount(s).
