Three New Candidates File to Challenge the Forney City Council

Concerned for the direction of Forney, a solidified contingent of three candidates have filed for positions on the Forney City Council. Forney residents, John Carr, Scott Reagan and Joc Lomax have officially filed as candidates in the May General Election, and without doubt a fierce race to bring about change at Forney City Hall, has officially begun.

Quietly solidifying their supporters, at 3:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon, Candidates John Carr, Scott Reagan and Joc Lomax gathered at Napoli’s Italian Restaurant on Main Street in historic downtown to set their campaigns in motion, and at just minutes after 4 o’clock, together they turned in their candidate applications to Forney City Secretary, Dorothy Brooks.

Long time Forney resident John Carr has filed to run for election against Forney Mayor, Darren Rozell.

Forney EDC Board Trustee, Scott Reagan will run against Council Member, James Hatley, and former Forney EDC Board Trustee, Joc Lomax, will run against Councilman Andy Parker.

Finally a truly competitive and legitimate election will be forthcoming for the voters of Forney, Texas, and the loyal readers of the Forney Post will be supplied with extensive coverage of the candidates and the election.

The five o’clock deadline for filing for election to the Forney City Council has passed and the candidates running for election will be Incumbent, Darren Rozell who will run for election against John Carr, Incumbent, James Hatley will be challenged by Scott Reagan and Incumbent, Andy Parker will face off against, Joc Lomax.

Council Member, Ray Stephens, will run unchallenged for re-election to the Place 2 position. Stephens was appointed by the current Council to replace former Council Member, Brian Haughey, after Councilman Haughey unexpectedly resigned in June 2012.
