Flagstone Creek & Mims Road Neighborhood Cleanup

02-28-2013

The City of Rockwall and Environmental Co-op encouraged everyone to come out and share just two hours of time helping keep Rockwall Clean and Green last Saturday afternoon from 2-4 p.m.

Parking and registration started at Flagstone Creek Subdivision Park where volunteers received gloves, vest, trash bags and cleanup instructions. Cleanup took place inside the subdivision and extended from the walking trail all the way to the corner of Mims Road and Sids Road.

The location was chosen because of its tendency to collect litter from many sources, especially after a rain. Neli Spurrell, of Environmental Co-op, who organized the clean up, estimated over 400 lbs of trash was removed from the neighborhood and kept out of the creek.

If you would like to participate at the next clean up or have any questions, please contact Environmental Co-op at 972-524-0007 or ecoprograms@trashbusters.org.
