KCCAC Renames Annual Golf Tournament to Honor Deceased KCO Deputy

07-25-2012

This year the annual Kaufman County Children’s Advocacy Center (KCCAC)  golf tournament, the “Kaufman County Cotton Cup Classic” will get a new name.

KCCAC has decided to rename their annual golf tournament in memory of Sergeant Carl “Skip” Thomas Jr. and his service. He was a highly respected and loved law enforcement officer who faithfully served Kaufman County residents through the Sheriff’s Department.

Sergeant Thomas, only 37 years of age, had become an integral member of the force where he served for 11 years before his life was cut short.

With the permission of his beloved family we are honored to have his name represent our cause   The “Carl “Skip” Thomas Jr. Memorial golf tournament”. The tournament benefiting the KCCAC will be held October 22, 2012 at Cedar Creek country Club.
