Deputy Honored with Life Saving Award

On Tuesday July 10, 2012, Kaufman County Sheriff David A. Byrnes presented Deputy Tommy Beddingfield with a Life Saving Award for his heroic efforts that stemmed from a medical emergency 911 call.

On May 8, 2012 a 911 call came in regarding a 53 year old man that had collapsed and did not appear to be breathing. Deputy Beddingfield was first on the scene at a residence in the 1000 block of W. Oaklawn Drive, in Talty.

Beddingfield immediately started CPR until the emergency medical personnel could reach the residence. The victim was then transported to a local hospital where he recovered.

Sheriff Byrnes stated, “Deputy Beddingfield, because of the quick action to help this victim you helped to save his life, and for that we thank you.”On Tuesday July 10, 2012, Kaufman County Sheriff David A.
