On Friday morning Forney Mayor, Darren Rozell and numerous city officials and business leaders joined representatives of Good Neighbor Care at the official groundbreaking ceremony for Three Forks Senior Living of Forney.

Located next to the Forney Justice Center on FM 548, and already with construction well underway, Good Neighbor Care, Vice-President of Business Development, Gary White, welcomed invited guests to the site of Forney’s newest senior citizen assisted living facility.

Designed to offer forty assisted living quarters along with twenty memory care units, the mega size facility will include Good Neighbor Care’s “Loving Connections” memory care program.

White stated “Many on our units will have direct access to our Interior Courtyard which is a very unique feature of this design and our Memory Care side we will have a mix of both companion and private rooms. We’ll be able to accommodate the needs of almost every senior here in Forney either with activities or with assisted living which is what we provide.”

He said “The great thing about a project like this is that it enables families who had in the past had to displace their love ones to other areas like Rockwall, Mesquite or Terrell. It enables them to keep their love one in Forney which we would all agree is a good thing.”

Elaborating, White stated “We feel that our projects, wherever we go, bring value to the community, and we’re very excited to bring that to Forney. We’re excited because one of the things we believe at Good Neighbor Care is about relationship building. We understand that our whole business is about building relationships and strengthening those relationships. The relationships we have with our residence, with our families, with our employees and with the community at large.

One of my goals for our building when we develop them is that by the end of the first year of operation, anybody in the City of Forney who is having an issue with a loved one, a senior, who is not sure where to turn, will know that if they make one phone call to Three Forks of Forney somebody here is going to help them find the appropriate resources. It may not be us, we may not be the appropriate resource but we’re going to help them in getting the assistance they need. It’s critical to the relationship building with the community.”

Next to the podium was Forney Mayor, Darren Rozell, who stated “You mentioned that this is a great turnout for a ground breaking but this is typical for a Forney groundbreaking. Our citizens care about what happens in this community. We are thankful to have Three Forks coming here. And that Good Neighbor Care decided that we were a community that fits their model, and that says a lot for us.”

After the brief speeches, City of Forney officials joined Good Neighbor Care representatives in ceremoniously turning dirt on Forney’s newest senior citizens facility.

Good Neighbor Care also operates senior citizen care facilities in Kerrville, McKenney and Murphy, Texas as well as in nine other states across the nation and is expected in open their newest location in Forney by January 2013.
