Forney ISD Board Approves New Hourly Pay Scale for Bus Drivers

The Forney ISD Board of Trustee recently approved a newly designed pay scale for the district’s school bus drivers and bus monitors.
FISD Assistant Superintendent of Operations, Dr. Brian Zemlicka, presented the Board with a 2012-2013 Compensation Schedule that is based on an hourly scale versus the previous pay scale which was based on the bus route.
Dr. Zemlicka stated “In order to be more consistent and competitive with area districts, we have developed an hourly bus driver/monitor pay scale that is based on experience, not on the drivers route.”
Zemlicka explained “In the past the district paid the drivers by the route and the amount paid for each route varied so there was not a consistent amount paid to each bus driver. So what you have before you is a schedule for salaries for only the 2012-2013 school year.”
New Board Trustee, Mike White, made Motion to approve the new payment structure and schedule and was seconded by Board Trustee, David Walker, all Trustees present voted their approval and the item passed unanimously.
