New Forney ISD Board Trustees Officially Sworn-In

On Monday evening FISD Superintendent, Mike Holland issued Certificates of Election to newly elected School Board Trustees, Heath Carroll and Mike White and minutes later both trustees held up their right hand and repeated the official Oath of Office as recited by FISD Board Secretary, Judy Succo.
FISD Superintendent Holland stated, “On May 12th, Brian Heath Carroll and Michael Joseph White were duly elected to the Forney ISD Board of Trustees. At this time I would like Mr. Carroll and Mr. White to come forward so that we may administer the Oath of Office to them.”
Superintendent Holland presented both gentlemen with their copies of the Oath of Office and then stood next to them as they repeated the Oath after FISD Board Secretary, Judy Succo.
After being officially sworn into office both new Board Trustees and their families posed for photographs before taking their newly elected positions.
Board Trustees, Mike White, will sit in the far left chair that was previously occupied by Trustee, Charles Treadway and Board Trustee, Heath Carroll, will occupy the seat vacated by Trustee, Bruce Benedict.
Immediately following the Oath of Office Ceremony, FISD Board President, Keith Bell presented a plaque of appreciation to former FISD Board Trustee, Bruce Benedict.
School Board President Bell stated, “On behalf on the Forney ISD Board of Trustees we’d like to recognize Bruce Benedict for his dedicated service to the Board of Trustee Members, and for supporting the students and the staff of the Forney ISD. It’s been a pleasure, Bruce.”
After settling the business of officially installing the newly elected board trustees, and recognizing former member, Bruce Benedict, FISD Superintendent Holland stated, “I like to open the floor for nominations in regard to Board President for the 2012-2012 school year.”
Trustee, David Walker nominated Trustee, Keith Bell, to continue as the Board’s President and his nomination was immediately seconded by Board Trustee, Dr. John Taylor.
Board Trustee, Walker next nominated Trustee, Dr. John Taylor as the Board’s Vice-President which also unanimously passed, and finishing up, Trustee Taylor nominated Trustee Walker as Board Secretary, which also passed unanimously.
Board Trustee, Becky Dobbs was not in attendance and former, Board Trustee, Charles Treadway was also not able to attend the meeting to collect his Plague of Appreciation for his service to the FISD Board of Trustee’s.
