Dogs in the Spotlight at Humane Society of Cedar Creek Lake

05-26-2012

The Humane Society of Cedar Creek Lake is proud to spotlight 4 dogs and 1 puppy this week in their never ending quest to find “furrever” homes for pets.

Alexis is a 1.5 year old white female small husky/Spitz mix. She is spayed, housebroken and good with kids but needs to be the only dog, or time to adjust to other dogs. Alexis was at the shelter for 3 months and is now in a foster home, waiting for her new family. She is very playful, loves her squeaky toys and has a lot of energy.  Hope is a 3 year old black female Lab mix. She is spayed, housebroken and ready to move on to her new home.

Bo is a 3 year old tan/black male medium sized dog, Airedale/ Terrier mix. He is neutered, very sweet and good with other dogs.  Oreo is a 1 year old large sized dog, Blue Heeler mix. He is neutered and housebroken. Our puppy Bailey is a 16 week old brown and white Australian Shepherd/Heeler/St Bernard Mix. He is in foster care, enjoying playing with other puppies and dogs. He is a very loving puppy and our hope is to find him a home soon so he can “grow up” with his new family.

These dogs and many others, as well as cats and kittens are at the Shelter, 10200 Arnold Hill Road/ CR 2403 in Tool, Texas 75143. The Humane Society of Cedar Creek Lake is where stray and surrendered Kaufman County dogs and cats are taken. Please be part of the solution, not the problem of overpopulation and stray animals.

Neuter or spay your pets, adopt shelter pets and consider being a Foster family to get pets into the family homes while they await adoption. The HSCCL is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 11 to 4, Saturday and Sunday 11 to 3, Closed Wednesdays.

The adoption fees of $65 kittens/cats and $95 for dogs and puppies includes spay/neuter, rabies, age appropriate vaccines, worming, microchip and HSCCL ID tag.

Have you considered being a Volunteer for your local Humane Society? Volunteers are always needed to help care for the many animals that find their way to the shelter each day, through owner surrender, Animal Control and area law enforcement officials. A Volunteer class has been started at the shelter to help you learn about the shelter and care of these animals.

Whether it is helping out at the front desk, walking or bathing dogs, playing with the cats or helping with an adoption event all of our volunteers are appreciated. You can find out more about volunteering and other opportunities to help support the Humane Society’s mission, promoting the humane treatment of animals through care, education and advocacy at www.hsccl.org, or by contacting the shelter at 903-432-3422.
