Lady Falcons Take Two from Carthage Bulldogs in Softball Playoffs

Two strong performances by Senior pitcher Shelby Hedrick and 6 for 7 hitting by Sophomore Taylor Sieber helped the Lady Falcons to advance to the regional quarterfinal to play Paris North Lamar next weekend.
Friday night’s contest was a pitching duel between two of the states better pitchers and the Lady Falcons came out on top. Shelby Hedrick one hit the Bulldogs and Taylor Sieber had two RBI’s for the games only runs in Friday’s contest as the North Forney Falcons came out on top 2-0.
In Saturday’s game the Bulldogs saw another strong performance by Hedrick as she again threw a one hitter. The Lady Falcon offense got to the Carthage Bulldogs for two runs in the first inning off of one hit and an error. For the day, the Carthage Bulldogs had one run, one hit and five errors while the Lady Falcons had eight runs, five hits and two errors.
Taylor Sieber went six for seven from the plate for the two games to lead the Falcons to the regional quarter final next weekend against Paris North Lamar in Grand Saline, TX.
